The idea of a personalized, personal car charger isn’t new.
In fact, there’s already a brand named PersonalCarRecharger that uses a battery to charge phones.
But now a startup called PersonalCareWorks is offering a new way to recharge phones.
The idea is simple: Instead of a conventional battery pack, which can only take up to 50 percent of the available juice, the company uses a custom battery pack that can recharge up to 100 percent.
It’s meant to be a way to have a more personal touch, to be able to recharge your phone more often and to make it more convenient.
PersonalCareWorks, which is based in Palo Alto, Calif., is the latest startup to take on the personal-care market with an idea that’s meant more to a tech-savvy user than a traditional charger.
It aims to be the next generation of personal-services companies that charge phones with a battery that can last for years without breaking down.
“The goal is to make a device that’s always available,” said CEO Andrew Zeller.
“We want it to be an experience, and it should be easy to use.”
Zeller and company hope to take a personal-service approach to charging phones by using a custom rechargeable battery pack.
Instead of charging phones with conventional chargers, they’re using a specially designed, customized rechargeable charging system that can take up more juice than conventional charger systems.
Instead, the battery pack sits in a pocket on the back of the phone, where users can put their phone in and charge it using the phone’s micro USB port.
Zeller said that the new rechargeable system can take the usual charger out of the charger, but the charger can also be recharged at any time.
It’s an innovative approach that Zeller says will appeal to both the tech-obsessed and the non-tech-obsessing.
“I don’t think there’s been a lot of consumer-focused consumer products in the past couple of decades,” Zeller told the TechCrunch Disrupt conference.
“What’s exciting about this is that we can bring consumer-level experiences to consumers in a way that has not been possible before.”
For example, Zeller is trying to bring personal-prescription medication, which has been a hard sell to consumers, to a more mainstream audience with his company’s first products.
PersonalCarePrescription will allow users to take medication online and in person.
The device will be made by a company called Medicinium that has a long history in medicine.
Medicin, Zellers startup, plans to be available in the next few months, but it’s not the only company taking on the medical-device market.
For example, in October, Medivation announced a new device called the Health and Health Care Portal that would allow people to buy health and medical-related services online, including prescriptions.
The personal-mobile-care company is currently working with the government to make its device a part of the federal government’s healthcare network.
Zeller said he’s hoping to get approval for the device this year, and he expects it to come to market in 2020.
He hopes the device will offer the same kind of personalization as traditional personal-car chargers do, with people able to choose which apps they use, and how often they charge their phone.
“We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel,” Zeller said.
“If you want a personal phone, you can have a personal charger.”
He said that because the rechargeable charger is a custom product, it’s also going to cost a lot more than conventional charger batteries.
“I’m hoping it’ll be about $1,000, which means that it’ll cost $3,000 to $4,000,” Zelers company said.
Zellerman added that he doesn’t expect it to compete directly with other rechargeable products like the iPhone X.
But while Zeller thinks that charging your phone with a rechargeable is the future, he doesn�t think that’s what consumers will actually want.
He said that consumers might want to do a few things with the device that aren’t specifically connected to their phone, like send their photos to friends and family.
“If I’m at a party and I want to send someone a picture of me and my dog, I can use the phone as a remote control, or I can set up a remote,” Zelson said.
But those options aren’t built into the current technology.
He also said that he hopes consumers will opt for the personal charger as a way of using their phone more frequently.
Zellers company has already received some early positive feedback from consumers, and some have already started to try out the device.
The company is already working with several companies to test the device out.
